How ScriptyPointer works
A marketplace for IT work where the money is held in escrow, released per milestone, and never paid out before the work is delivered.
Describe the job
Write a short brief — what needs doing, what skills it needs, and your budget. Our AI reads it, estimates the effort in hours, and drafts a milestone payment schedule you can edit before you publish.
Posting is free. Nothing is charged at this stage.
Review your matches
We score every professional against your brief on skill overlap, specialties, and profile context. Each match shows a percentage and exactly which required skills the person is missing, so you can see the reasoning rather than trusting a black box.
Fund escrow to hire
When you choose someone, the full project budget is charged and held in escrow before work starts. The professional can see the money is committed; you keep control of when it moves.
This is the only point at which you are charged.
Approve work milestone by milestone
The professional submits each milestone. You approve it to release that payment, send it back with revision notes, or open a dispute if something is seriously wrong.
If you do not act within 7 days, the milestone approves automatically and pays out. We remind you at 5 days. Requesting a revision stops the clock.
The 7-day rule
A submitted milestone releases automatically if the client does not review it within 7 days. We send a reminder at 5 days.
It protects professionals from being left unpaid by an unresponsive client, and it gives clients a clear obligation: review promptly, request a revision, or open a dispute. Both a revision request and a dispute stop the clock.
Where the money sits
- —Before hiring: Nothing is charged. Posting and browsing are free for everyone.
- —At hiring: The full budget is charged to the client and held in escrow by Stripe.
- —Per milestone: Approval releases that milestone’s payment to the professional, less the platform fee.
- —If it goes wrong: A dispute freezes the remaining escrow while we review the project record and allocate the funds.
Platform fees
Clients pay no platform fee — the budget you fund is the amount you are charged. Professionals pay a fee deducted from each milestone payout:

- 21%If your average rating falls below 4.0, once you have 5+ reviews
Professionals with fewer than 5 reviews are treated as being in good standing, so one unhappy client can't move you into the higher tier. Full detail is in the Terms.
